How to Use the Testosterone Calculator
The numbers and fields above may seem complicated and confusing, but this calculator is easier to use than you might think. Simply input your Albumin, SHBG, and total testosterone levels into the calculator and you'll get an update on your body's free testosterone and bioavailable testosterone.
Albumin
Albumin is a protein created by the liver and can be found in the plasma of the blood. This abundantly available protein is important for maintaining blood pressure and transporting nutrients, as well as other substances, throughout the body.
How is it measured?
Albumin levels can be measured via a blood or urine test. Ask your provider about available albumin tests.
SHBG
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is a blood protein that binds with sex hormones. It primarily regulates the amount of sex hormones in the body.
How is it measured?
SHBG can be measured via a blood sample. Ask your provider about available SHBG tests.
Testosterone
Testosterone is a sex hormone that is involved in a variety of different processes throughout the body. In addition to supporting reproductive health in men, it is also an essential component of the body's overall health.
How is it measured?
Testosterone can be measured via a blood test with your service provider.
A Note on Measurements
When inputting your levels, you may notice a variety of different measurement indicators:
g/dL: Grams per deciliter. For example, the average range of albumin is 3.4-5.4 g/dL.
g/L: Grams per liter.
ng/dL: Nanograms per deciliter. For example, the average range of total testosterone is 300-1,000 ng/dL.
ng/mL: Nanograms per milliliter.
nmol/L: Nanomoles per liter. For example, the average range of SHBG is 10-35 nmol/L.
nmol/dL: Nanomoles per deciliter.
nmol/mL: Nanomoles per milliliter.
What's the Difference Between Free and Bioavailable?
You might have noticed at the bottom of the calculator that 2 different values are produced: Free Testosterone and Bioavailable Testosterone. Free Testosterone is exactly what it sounds like; free-floating testosterone not bonded to any blood proteins. Bioavailable testosterone is the amount of free testosterone combined with testosterone that is attached to albumin. This type of testosterone is important to calculate, since it helps with muscle growth, sexual health, as well as bone density.

What Patients Say
“I am a believer! I started my Testosterone treatment under the guidance of the medical staff at Elevate Men’s Clinic and the change is amazing. I looked at all types of treatments and even tried some of the over the counter programs. Elevate is the best.”*
-Sean M – Age 55 – Mooresville, NC
“I tried pills, shots and other creams. When I started, I didn’t see much of a difference… at first. Then one day I walked into my bathroom with my shirt off and my wife 22 years remarked at how ‘cut’ my body had become.
I notice my workouts are stronger, my recovery shorter and my erections are harder. I recently took a trip with my son and his Boy Scout troop to backpack 10 days in the wilderness. The other dads were hurting each and every morning. I was in great condition and kept up with the younger scouts."*
